What Is a Waterproof Tact Switch? Structure, Features and Working Principle

Learn its sealed structure, working principle, and why waterproof tact switches are widely used in outdoor and humid electronic devices.

A waterproof tact switch is a sealed micro tactile switch designed for humid, wet, and dusty environments. Unlike ordinary tact switches, it adopts a fully enclosed waterproof structure to block water, moisture, and dust from entering the internal contact system.

Tact switches are momentary touch controls that only conduct current when pressed and automatically disconnect when released. The waterproof version enhances shell sealing, rubber waterproof gaskets, and internal insulation structures, ensuring stable operation even in splashing water or high-humidity conditions.

With small size, sensitive response, quiet touch, and waterproof performance, waterproof tact switches have become standard components for household appliances, outdoor equipment, automotive electronics, and industrial control devices.
