Key Parameter Selection Guide for Push Button Switch and Rocker Switch

Current and Voltage Load Matching Principles

Current and voltage parameters are the core indicators to ensure the safe operation of push button switch and rocker switch. The load current of push button switch is mostly low current, generally suitable for signal circuit control below 5A. It is mainly used for circuit signal triggering and low-power equipment control, and cannot be directly used for high-current main circuit switching.
Rocker switch is designed for high-load power circuits. Conventional rocker switch can bear 10A to 20A rated current, and industrial high-power models can support higher current and voltage loads. When selecting switches, low-power signal control circuits should choose matching push button switch, while high-power main power circuits must use qualified rocker switch to avoid contact ablation and circuit safety accidents caused by overload.
Mechanical Life and Operating Stability Parameters
Mechanical life represents the durable performance of push button switch and rocker switch, which is measured by the number of effective operations. Ordinary civilian push button switch has a service life of hundreds of thousands of presses, while industrial-grade high-quality push button switch can reach millions of pressing times, suitable for high-frequency continuous operation scenarios.
The mechanical life of rocker switch is longer and the operation stability is higher. Due to the simple rocker transmission structure, the loss of each switching operation is small, and it can maintain stable contact performance after long-term frequent switching. For equipment that needs long-term stable power switching, rocker switch has more obvious durability advantages than ordinary push button switch.
Protection Level and Environmental Adaptability Selection
Different working environments have different requirements for the protection performance of push button switch and rocker switch. Indoor dry environment can adopt conventional unprotected switches. Humid, dusty and outdoor open environments need to select waterproof and dustproof push button switch and sealed rocker switch.
High-temperature working scenarios such as industrial machinery and kitchen electrical equipment need high-temperature resistant switch models to avoid structural deformation and contact failure caused by high temperature. Reasonable matching of protection level and environmental parameters can effectively extend the service life of push button switch and rocker switch, ensuring long-term stable operation of equipment.
Size and Installation Adaptability
Push button switch has rich size specifications, including ultra-small micro buttons and large industrial operating buttons, which can adapt to compact precision electronic equipment and large industrial control panels. Rocker switch has relatively fixed size standards, suitable for standardized panel installation. In product design, the installation space and structural size of the equipment should be comprehensively considered to select suitable push button switch and rocker switch specifications.
